Child Therapy
Is your child struggling with overwhelming emotions, behavioral changes, or difficulty connecting with others? Therapy can provide a safe and supportive space to help them navigate these challenges. Whether it's anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, ADHD, trauma, divorce, or social difficulties—many children and adolescents carry emotional burdens that show up as tantrums, isolation, academic struggles, or changes in sleep and appetite.
At the heart of our approach is a deep understanding of how children communicate through behavior. That sudden shift in mood or social withdrawal may be your child’s way of asking for help. We specialize in working with children ages 2–6, adolescents, and young parents, offering trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, play therapy, and experiential methods tailored to each child’s unique needs.
Tide Pool Counseling primarily utilizes Synergetic Play Therapy® (SPT)—an evidence-based approach grounded in nervous system regulation and interpersonal neurobiology. This powerful modality helps children process emotions through connection, co-regulation, and play, fostering long-term emotional resilience and healing.

If your child is having difficulty with peers, processing a traumatic event, or just seems to be losing that spark—they don’t have to carry it alone. We’re here to help restore their sense of safety, confidence, and joy.
Adult Therapy
At Tide Pool Counseling, we see adults from all walks of life—some who know exactly what they want to work on, and others who just feel that something isn’t right. Maybe you were encouraged by a friend or provider to reach out, or maybe you're here because of that quiet, persistent feeling that things need to shift. Either way, you don’t need to have it all figured out to start.
You might be asking yourself:
Why do my relationships keep falling apart? Why am I stuck in the same patterns? Who am I, really? Is change even possible?
These are hard questions—and they deserve time, care, and honest exploration.
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Every person is different, and we work with you to understand what’s really going on beneath the surface—not just what’s showing up in day-to-day life. If you’ve done therapy before and felt like it didn’t quite reach those deeper parts, we get it. Our team is here to offer something more rooted, more connected, and more lasting.
Our approach is grounded in relational, trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, and experiential work. We pay close attention to the brain-body connection, patterns of regulation and disconnection, and the natural wisdom that already lives inside each person. We believe healing happens through connection—with your therapist, with yourself, and with the parts of your story that are asking to be seen.
Therapy here is real. It’s honest, sometimes hard, sometimes light, and always human. If you’re not sure whether it’s the right time or the right fit, we’re happy to talk with you. No pressure—just a conversation.
Parenting is one of the most meaningful—and most challenging—roles we take on. At Tide Pool Counseling, our parent coaching services are designed to support you in feeling more confident, connected, and grounded as you navigate the ups and downs of raising children.
Whether you're managing big behaviors, struggling with emotional outbursts, feeling unsure about how to support your child’s mental health, or simply overwhelmed by daily stress, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Parent coaching provides a space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface, understand your child’s needs more clearly, and develop tools that align with your values and your family.
We work with parents of children of all ages—especially those in early childhood and adolescence—using a trauma-informed, developmentally attuned approach. Together, we’ll focus on strengthening your connection with your child, improving co-regulation, setting compassionate boundaries, and increasing your own sense of clarity and calm.
This work is not about perfection. It’s about building a relationship with your child rooted in trust, understanding, and growth—for both of you.
